I should have diffused my flash more than I did. So, this one ended up

as an experiment in desaturation. Comments?

I like a black background with flower shots, so this works for me. I'd consider cloning out the stem or stick at the bottom right and make it completely black. Nice detail and hilarious title!

Good title! :-). Striking shot and the dark background works well. As you say a bit more diffusion would bring down the highlights. Well done for a good try (at something I have steered clear of!)

Hi Walter, beautiful flower and lighting. I have a large 55lb poodle and I can see him in the flower. I am guessing its an orchid? Cheers, Sondra
