chris_autio
Apologies this has nothing to do with photography, but file saving. The PS 2024 or updated 2023 no longer allows me to quickly save photos into my folder on the desktop: I have to first go to menu "favorites" which no longer includes desktop, but then I have to go to MAC>MAC HD>users> myself > desktop > folder. How do I return right to the folder from which I am working?? Thank you. I cannot find it in Settings under "file handling".
digitaldog
Can you show us a screen capture of what you're seeing? And your PS preferences (File Handling). digitaldog
What you are showing on the left side is the Finder Sidebar (Favorates) of which you can add the Desktop (or any file or folder). Is that what you're asking for? https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/customize-the-finder-sidebar-on-mac-mchl83c9e8b8/mac#:~:text=Add a file to the, item in the Favorites section. Add a file to the sidebar: Press and hold the Command key, then drag the file to the Favorites section. If you don’t see the Favorites section, choose Finder > Settings > Sidebar, then select at least one item in the Favorites section. Ed_Ingold
You can drag and drop folders into the sidebar in Finder. That includes "Desktop" and sub-folder. Favorite folders are easily found when saving files from applications. I keep my photos on a server, rather than internal or cloud memory. It's simply "Photos" in the Finder sidebar.
